What is multimedia all about?

In today’s advanced and technology adapted society, the concept of multimedia is ever present in many facets of life. Multimedia can be termed as the “use of several different type of media (e.g. text, video, audio, graphics, animation and interactivity) to convey information”. Furthermore, multimedia involves the use of computers to “present text, graphics, video, animation and sound in an integrated way” (Wikipedia).

So what's your level of expertise in this area?

The Certificate in Science in Computing & Multimedia Level 6 programme provides a broad range of modules designed to enhance your skills and knowledge and it also gives the opportunity to progress to higher certificate or degree level programmes in this field.
After this course you  will have the required skills and knowledge to work effectively within an organisation at entry level, to work as part of a team supporting software development projects, to produce multimedia content (such as graphics and audio), configure networks & systems and to configure & maintain hardware. This module introduces students to general multimedia systems; it shows them how to produce audio, video and 2-D animation content and how to publish that content to the web.
