Total Defence to Create 100 Jobs for Dublin

Total Defence Internet Security will be creating 100 jobs in Dublin as part of an IDA supported initiative. Already, 21 staff have been recruited and Total Defence see this as part of their global expansion plans.

Total Defence are ranked 6th in the US and their main market is in business and consumer security products - where their Internet Security Suite won a 2012 Global Excellence Award in March 2012. The positions to be filled will be in the areas of sales, operations and customer support.

The IT job growth rate is up to over 50% from 2010 (source Morgan McKinley) and there is a huge demand for people to up-skill and fill these positions. A lot of these sales and customer support positions require an understanding of ebusiness coupled with IT principles and a recognised certification such as FETAC will help increase your opportunities.

When choosing to up skill, your options are not limited and you may choose to specialise is such areas as  IT and NetworkingJava Programming and Digital Marketing & Ebusiness. The Irish Times reported last week that there is potential for 5,000 new jobs within the Social Media industry and it is advisable for people to get the necessary skills to fill these positions and progress their career.
